Looked here from a recommendation from a close friend. Girlfriend and I just moved to the valley, extremely excited to ski/board our first time.

Overall, staff were super friendly and helpful. The reason for 2 stars comes from issues a couple days later after dropping well over 1700 dollars on about half of our gear.

The boots we ended up going with, didn't fit my girlfriends bindings on the skis. We didn't find out about this until a few days later when we were getting them waxed. Another 250 dollars. Not a huge deal, small mistake.

This problem came because the staff didn't recognize the compatibility, and we were still fairly new, and trusted their words and recommendation.

We weren't looking for a refund on skis, I would have spent more money in the store had they did an in store credit, or a discount on something else as an apology, but I'm told we will only get a refund, if they can sell the old bindings. The whole conversation and seemingly blow off we got was ridiculous. Felt completely taken advantage of, and will avoid this place at all costs.

Big shout out to Tanya! I walked in and she immediately made me feel welcomed. I'm new to this whole winter sports thing and she was very informative and helpful by giving me an better understanding of the difference between skiing and boarding! Thanks for your hospitality and kindness!

Had a good conversation with two peeps, while traffic was low, and I am in the market for bindings. So, hence three stars, but…After doing some research to potentially purchase, I went back in store to discuss one of the bindings one guy had said he can move a bit on price with. All his language was making it sound like he was the guy to make that decision. Then he asks the other dude. I am a fan of honesty, straight talk, and integrity; so, no purchase. Short hustle, they’ll still sell them, but not to me. I appreciate the time and chat, just be straight.

Bought my first splitboard from Stafford at Transition Sports. He helped me get geared up with some solid product. The places I've gone and things I've accomplished since all started right here. Forever grateful and will forever rep the 'T'.

Great store for used and new sports gear. I am a local and this is the best place in all of the valley in my opinion. The staff are very skilled riders, and their suggestions and advice is huge when making a purchase. The only sports store I will shop at. Only place with good safety demon United gear to keep you and or your kids safe. Also good snow clothes, and normally a very awesome golden retriever there to greet you.

Do not go anywhere else if you need any gear or work done around Avon. We were in town from Ohio and I had issues with my own boots and daughter did with her bindings. Stafford and his crew went above and beyond helping us. They have a great selection of new and used gear. The best part about the shop is Timber!!! Make sure to give him some lovins ?

100% reccomend. They have absurdly low prices... you can walk in and get really good skis for $150-300 while other shops charge $600-1200. They also have pre owned gear in good condition too for steals. Staff is great and helpful. I bought skis but they were too thin so I brought them back after i tried them and they let me trade it in for a ski i liked better an gave me store credit on the different (-$30 demo fee). I ended getting a really nice jacket for almost $100 and ski goggles.
